Your Thoughts

Three guys spend the night at a very cheap hotel - it costs only $30 dollars for all three. They split the cost, paying only $10 each. After they get into their room, the desk clerk realizes he should only have charged $25 dollars. So, he gives the bellboy $5 to give back to the three guys. The bellboy is concerned on how they will split the $5. So the bellboy gives the guys only $3 and he keeps $2.
In the end, the guys only paid $9 each for the room for a total of $27 plus the $2 that the bellboy kept - equals $29. Where is the other $1??

Give me your thoughts or answer in the comment section.

This a math puzzle that can be solve 2 ways:

1. If you do it the logical way then you are missing 1 dollar. Each man payed 10 dollars and then recieved 1 dollar back which means 9 x 3 = 27 plus the 2 dollars that the bellboy kept = 29 dollars.

2. Each man gives 10 dollars

1st 10
2nd 10
3rd 10 = 30 dollars

the clerk gives back 5 dollars so
1st recieves 1 dollar
2nd recieves 1 dollar
3rd recieves 1 dollar = 3 dollars
and the bellboy keeps 2 dollars

3 + 2 = 5
It depends on how you do the math.

In reality you need to subtract the 2 dollars from the 27 = 25. It depends on how you do the math.
